Internal testing cannot measure clinical trust
The tool answered natural-language clinical questions with structured, referenced responses. Content quality was not in doubt. What remained unknown was behavioural: whether the answers were accurate, clear and useful enough that a clinician would act on them during a real patient encounter.
Answering that required a large and diverse pool of practising clinicians, a structured way to capture what they thought query by query, and the operational capacity to run it across geographies inside a defined timeline.
Recruiting 450+ clinicians across three regions
Geographic spread
Medcase recruited more than 450 licensed clinicians across the United States, Latin America and Europe — enough spread to surface differences between healthcare systems rather than averaging them away.
Role and experience mix
Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and specialists, from early-career to senior. A tool used at the point of care is used by all of them, and a validation cohort that samples only one of them answers a narrower question than the client was asking.
Embedding the tool in daily clinical practice
Participants were not given test scripts. They integrated the tool into actual patient-related workflows, asked the clinical questions their own cases raised, and assessed each response on relevance, completeness and accuracy.
This is the difference between evaluating a model and validating a product. Scripted queries measure whether the answer is correct; queries that arise from a real consultation measure whether it is correct, timely and complete enough to use.
Structured feedback at query level
Quantitative ratings
Every evaluated query carried a simple directional rating, giving the client a dataset large enough to analyse statistically across cohorts, regions and languages.
Qualitative detail
Alongside the rating, clinicians recorded what was missing, whether the clinical recommendation was accurate, and whether the response fit the patient scenario in front of them. That detail is what turns a score into a product change.
Operating across time zones and five languages
Medcase managed onboarding and ongoing engagement, coordinated workflows across multiple geographies and time zones, and delivered within agreed timelines. Usage spanned English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German.
The client's team stayed on product improvement rather than clinician logistics.
